Angel at the Paradise Hotel – backstory
I am very excited to show you the cover of my debut novel,
Angel at the Paradise Hotel, and to share some details of the project
As the launch of my debut novel, Angel at the Paradise Hotel, fast approaches, in a recent meeting with my publicist we had the idea to give you the backstory. Without Spoilers, of course! In this way I hope you will savour the flavour of the book and enjoy the build up to the launch!
In a series of posts I plan to, for instance, share with you my love of the Greek island of Corfu and the reason I set my novel there. Then I will introduce you to the main characters in the novel so you can get to know them better, and see what makes them tick. You could enjoy this either before you read the book or afterwards

Let's jump right in!
What is so great about Corfu?
As you may already have understood if you’ve taken a look at the articles in Greek Odyssey – mine! I love Greece and all of the islands I’ve holidayed on, or written about. When I was living in the UK I’d visited a fair few of the islands before visiting Corfu, one of the most popular.
Corfu is green and beautiful, as the above photo shows, and within days of my first visit became my favourite beach holiday destination. I love to travel - seeing the sights and soaking up new cultures, but if I want to relax in the sun to recharge my batteries, it's Corfu every time for me.
The island, with its 592 square kilometres, has a wide variety of resorts offering the whole spectrum of experiences. These range from unspoilt, low-key, or niche luxury, to over-commercialized, or even a bit party-wild. Take your pick, it's all there. Do some research if you've never been to the island before.
In 1992, having taken a career break to focus on writing I ended up staying a whole summer in Corfu. It was logical, therefore, to place my novel there. I decided to create a fictitious budding resort in Angel at the Paradise Hotel which I call Korkyra.
Anyway, for me, Corfu is a place of stunning natural beauty where you can expect a warm welcome from the locals. Step right into this paradise in Angel at the Paradise Hotel and experience a summer vacation while sitting in an armchair at home.
Looking forward to sharing more of the backstory with you in my next post.
Blessings,
Teresa x
